Overview
A dedicated server is the highest tier of hosting independence: one entire physical machine, built to your specification, racked in a reputable data centre — no neighbours, no shared ceilings, no limits imposed from outside. At PBDP, leasing one is not simply delivering a box: components are chosen from your workload's real profile, the system is tuned at the lowest levels, monitoring runs around the clock, and when a disk or port dies, the minutes are counted by people who care. For large projects, heavy services and organisations where isolation is non-negotiable, nothing else on the menu yet matches it.
What a dedicated server is and how it differs from a VPS
A VPS splits one physical machine among dozens of tenants; a dedicated server hands you the whole motherboard, processor, memory, disks and network ports. You can build hardware RAID arrays, add accelerator cards, run whatever operating system image you choose and do things no hypervisor permits. The trade is honesty: broken hardware, filling disks and security patching all become real, scheduled responsibilities — which is exactly what our server management and optimisation service exists to own.
When physical iron becomes a necessity
- Sustained heavy compute: systems running long processing jobs daily — from reporting farms to predictive analytics pipelines.
- High traffic with uptime demands: busy stores, public-facing platforms and services where each minute offline has a price tag.
- Compliance and isolation: organisations whose data must sit on hardware they alone occupy, with an auditable protection chain.
- Gaming and streaming: multiplayer and video services that tolerate neither latency nor resource jitter.
- Multi-service platforms: software companies and large resellers hosting several heavy services on their own base.
- Central databases: large database servers where dedicated caching and disk decide milliseconds in every query.
What the dedicated server package delivers
- Hardware to your spec: processor generation, memory, disk count and type, and RAID layout from a genuine sizing exercise — not a preset tier.
- Rack space and ports in a reputable data centre: conditioned power, cooling, redundant uplinks and physical security to standard.
- Complete initial configuration: OS install, sensible partitioning, firewall, kernel tuning and hardened administrative access.
- Managed migration: services moved from your previous VPS or shared platform on a zero-downtime plan, inside our backup and migration service.
- Tested backups and restores: regular off-box copies with periodic restore drills — not unopened zip files pretending to be insurance.
- Written SLA and 24/7 monitoring: defined service levels with remedies, plus fault alerts that fire before your customers phone you.
How the work proceeds
- Workload audit: three months of CPU, memory, disk I/O and network traffic are reviewed so no component is chosen by guesswork.
- Hardware and location: specification and data-centre geography are fixed against your audience and legal obligations.
- Build and configuration: assembly, partitioning, system installation and first-pass security hardening.
- Service migration: applications and databases are brought up, load-tested, and DNS moves in the announced window.
- Ongoing care: capacity monitoring, security maintenance under our security update service, and round-the-clock support whenever hardware argues.
Security and continuity: the unglamorous pair that decides everything
On dedicated hardware you are literally building your own house, and a house without alarms and fire extinguishers is merely beautiful. Every handover includes network-layer firewalling, intrusion detection, access restriction and an encryption policy for backups; on managed tiers, periodic penetration testing runs against the same estate. Continuity is the second column: snapshots before every change, quarterly restore drills, and responsibilities spelled out in the SLA. If your organisation is moving from public cloud back to owned infrastructure, we first re-draw the architecture through technical architecture consulting, so the server is the right puzzle piece rather than an expensive island.
Frequently asked questions
Can the hardware be upgraded later?
Yes. Memory and disk additions usually happen live or inside a short night-time window, and processor upgrades are scheduled ahead of time. That is why we quote a platform with growth headroom from day one — so you are not replacing the whole machine eighteen months later.
Is an Iranian data centre better than an overseas one?
For Iranian audiences, local facilities give better latency and routing stability; for international services or specific connectivity needs, overseas locations win. Many estates run a hybrid — core services inside, egress layers outside. We size the decision against where your users actually are, not against fashion.
What if we cannot manage the server ourselves?
The managed tier exists for precisely that: our team acts as your systems engineering department and delivers monthly reports on capacity, security and incidents. Hire your own team later and you can step back to self-management — documentation transfers with the keys, and a server never becomes hostage to any particular group.
